THE RENOVATION!!
2025-26
this ol' building has gotten a little help structurally! her renovations were done professionally so the integrity of the marble, the stained glass doors and all of the woodwork look like they probably did almost 100 years ago. Everything she's been through, constant trains, etc., have not brought her down so it is up to us to give her all the help she needs to last another century. Thank you again to all of the donors who have helped make this happen!

The mirror, back counter (including marble slab and stained glass) and ALL of the shelving units along the north side were meticulously removed, numbered and set aside for the big renovation. The northwest corner of the building was mudjacked up approximately 10", flooring in between the front counter and back counter (with big mirror) was repaired and the process of restoring and preserving the brick wall from the front of store to the back of the main room commenced. Once all of the brick was prepared, the painstaking work of reinstalling the wood shelving, mirror and back counter, the marble and stained glass was completed. The work our contractor did was incredible.
Notice the ceiling in before and after pictures. All of the dropped ceiling was removed and the original ceiling was painted flat black and new lights hung.
We still have some organizing and cleaning to do but we are so excited to open June 7th, 2026 at noon so everyone can appreciate how amazing and authentic our Soda Fountain looks once again!
